  1. Well, Alexandre, although you may not realize it, you have definitely made your mark in the hearts and minds of the many people you've touched. I understand that your wish is to make your mark in a more gestalt sense, but have patience, that will definitely come.

My mother and I are kind of speculating that you'll end up in the State Department one day because you are just the kind of young person they're looking for. You have a unique gift, Alexandre, and you have wisely chosen to share it with others. This gift we see is difficult to explain in one word, but in its simplest form, I'd call it "open empathy." So few people can open themselves up enough to take in others' needs and make them a part of themselves. I see that in your writing just as I saw the glimmer of it when you were a child. You were always aware of people's needs and helped where you could. You've blossomed as a young man and I'd dearly love to get to know you as you grow and mature.

You have filled your family's heart with great pride and for that, speaking for both my mother and me, we'd like to thank you.
